Are you thinking about Spring cleaning yet? I am and the first place to start is the closet. Pull out all the clothes that are too small, too big, too ugly or absolutely anything that you wore in high school! Donate the good to a local Charity and the rest to a trashbin.

Now you can see what you have that you will actually wear. Grab a pen and paper and start taking inventory. Keep in mind what you may want to add to your wardrobe so you can incorporate it into your new closet design.

The Container Store has a design tool to help you lay out your closet

The long story...

The question is always, "How long should my jabots be? " The answer is simple. Do you want a classic, formal room or more casual feel. As you can see, Marie chose formal. I think she new exactly what she was doing. We suggested joining the swags with a pellmet in the corner and it opens up the space beautifully. Cadence vertical blinds by Hunter Douglas are hung under the swags and soften the windows while giving the room the soft light Marie wanted.

More than just a kitchen...

The kitchen is the heart of the home, where everyone wants to hang out. Make it a warm, comfortable space with furniture, accessories and decorative cornices and pillows.

Remodel Now, Relocate Later

Don't wait until the last minute to upgrade your home. Why not start early so you can enjoy it too. Now is not the time to try to sell your home, however you want to be ready when you decide the time is right. De clutter as much as possible! Take room by room and make a list of priorities for each one. It can be overwhelming to think of the home as one project. If you break it down into several smaller projects, the end seems more obtainable. Choose rooms that will make a difference in your home value as well as improve your quality of life. For example the kitchen is the soul of the home. Home cooking or take out, it doesn't matter which mold you fit because either way everyone ends up hanging out in the kitchen. As a result, when looking for a new home your first instinct is to look at the kitchen so make it great!
